1. This document constitutes a specification for a first order, two component,quarter wave retardation plate. The assembly consists of two nominally plane parallel plates of crystal quartz whose axes are nominally at an angles of 90 to one other and nominally parallel to the entrance face of one of the componets. 5. Single pass transmitted wavefront deformation shall not exceed rada/10 wave at 0 incidence to a polished surface over the clear aperture.
